Hey Peeps,

Just wanted to ask a quick question about the fitting of an XR4/ST Spoiler and where the exact bolt position is
as ive just bought a XR4 spolier off the net (being delivered sometime this week) to fit my 04' 3Dr WP Fiesta but was unsure of
where the bolt has to go, and was curious to see if it was an easy DIY job or somethin id have to take to a body shop to fit

Heres an image of my tailgate, please if someone can tell me the mounting point, that would be greatly appreciated!!!

A Or B ? or Other ??

Cheers,
Pete

Ok thanks heaps peety117,

Not saying i don't believe u there peety117,
How sure are you, are u goin off memory or did u go out and look at where its bolted on?

Not saying i don't believe u, its just that i need to know whether to book it in at the paintshop where im gonna get the
spoiler painted, cause they have to get a bodyshop guy to come in as they arent able to do it
BUT.... if its easy enough then ill just align, drill and bolt it on myself

If somebody could take a pic the inside of the tailgate where the bolt comes through then that would be awesome!!!

Thankyou in advance to anyone who posts up a pic!!!!,
Pete

Yea im going off memory, but the spoiler sits away from face B so i would imagine it would be mounted from face A, it migh even be glued on...? it curves at the ends and sits flush with the top of the C pillar's Id take it to a smash repairers/paint shop just to be safe

heya here is a pic of the underside of the tailgate on my xr4.
and from experience most like gonna be a bolt each end, probably 2 clips in the middle and double sided tape as well... i agree with peety117 in it being a job for a body shop...most likely ford made 2 different tailgates xr4 having the holes for the spoiler...if you can try getting a fitting stencil that have all holes marked on it. hope the pic works

Got the email, thankyou

Just one thing thou, if i do decide to do it, how do stop the drilled hole from rusting up?

Is there some kind of "rust preventer" or do i add a dab of paint to the hole, cause i wanna try
and get a lil jar of paint when i get the spoiler painted sometime next week to touch up a few stone chips

Ill keep u guys updated on how this goes!

Cheers
